Bar Light (n. bär—lie t): Annual event of the Sexual Assault Center of Northeast Georgia, Inc. The purpose is twofold: to increase awareness about sexual violence in the downtown community and raise continually needed funds for the Center.

 

On Saturday, March 4^th SACNEGA hosted its third annual Bar Light event.  The evening started at the Arch bar where board members, staff members, donors, and supporters from the community came together for a reception catered by local restaurants and bars.  At 9 p.m. the festivities moved down to the Fabulous 40 Watt Club where the Heidi Hensley band, Iron Hero, and Hope for a Golden Summer performed and the raffle was held.  Through ticket sales and donations the Center raised $3047.  Thanks to everyone who helped make this year’s Bar Light a success! 

 

Special thanks to The Grit, Georgia Bar, Arch Bar, Speakeasy, United Distributors, 283 Bar, The Globe, The Cellar, Pain and Wonder, Harry Bisetts, Athens Bull Dog Sporting Goods and Herschel Walker, Iron Hero, The Heidi Hensley Band, Hope for a Golden Summer, and Last Resort Bar and Grill for donating their time, efforts, money, and goods to make BarLight so special. And we are especially grateful to our volunteers that worked hard to help us pull this event together; Megan Crimmins, Becky Bence, Katie E., Dieng Cameron, Meredith Williamson, and Jennifer McMahon. We look forward to making next year’s BarLight even better!
